Homestead Holiday Gift Guide
I’m not quite sure how it’s already December, but the holiday season is officially upon us! I usually wait until the last possible minute for holiday shopping, but somehow I’m about 85% finished shopping for the kids + our family. There have been so many incredible sales this year! I have a feeling that I’ll still wind up procrastinating with the remaining gifts, but I’ll take my slightly better planning skills as a major win.

Outdoor gear
Farm Coat: I received this Carhartt coat as an early birthday gift from Ben this year, and I’m absolutely loving it. Think durability meets warmth! During the colder months, I like to layer a sweatshirt underneath to stay extra warm.
Hat: Carhartt hats are quickly becoming my favorite hats for chilly early morning farm chores. This one is darling!
Warm gloves: I literally went the entire winter last year without purchasing gloves. (Confession – I kept stealing my toddler’s gloves, which were not only ridiculously small, but also not the most functional for farm chores.) These Carhartt gloves are SO warm, and now I’m kicking myself that I didn’t snag a pair sooner.
Farm boots: Since starting our homestead 1.5 years ago, I’ve been wearing a cheap unisex pair of farm boots. I think it’s officially time for an upgrade!
Warm socks: Let’s be honest – I’ll probably be too cheap to buy the expensive boots above, so warm & cozy socks are a must on the farm.
Cozy Sweater: This one isn’t necessarily “outdoor” gear, but I’ve been loving a cozy sweater these days. Our house tends to get pretty cold in the winter months, so a house sweater is a must!
For the farm
Electric fencing: If you live on a farm, then electric fencing is an absolute must. It’s an expensive item on my Homestead Holiday Gift Guide, but it works wonderfully. I frequently find a coyote lurking around the chicken coop in the mornings, but luckily our fencing has kept everyone safe so far.
Automatic coop door: I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned an automatic coop door 1393748 times on the blog before, but it makes raising chickens so much more convenient. Ours is sold out, but this one has great reviews.
Red barn paint: Anybody else a sucker for an old red barn? Give your animal housing a facelift with this red barn paint! We’re using this paint for our goat houses to match the barns and chicken coop on the farm.
For the kitchen
Farm cookie cutter set: Holidays on the homestead obviously need farm animal cookies, right?
Egg basket: Need a new way to collect your farm fresh eggs? This basket gets the job done perfectly.
Gigantic egg basket: If you’re overflowing with eggs, then store them on the kitchen counter in this gigantic egg basket.
Vitamix: We usually use our Vitamix at least once per day, if not more! It’s a pricey item on my Homestead Holiday Gift Guide, but it has so many uses in the kitchen!
Mason jars: You can literally never have enough mason jars. Can your garden vegetables, or use them to store your raw milk. We love these plastic storage caps, too!
Books
Paleo cookbook: We love every Danielle Walker cookbook, but this one might be our favorite.
Homesteading books: As we start planning the design and layout for the new farm, we’ve starting researching more about regenerative farming and permaculture. We just ordered the 3 books below and are excited to dive in. Perfect stocking stuffer in my Homestead Holiday Gift Guide!
