Trick-or-treating and a chicken suit

Hey friends, hope you had a great week and a wonderful Halloween! Cold and flu season is officially here, and we’ve been hit. I struggled with a 24 hour stomach bug at the beginning of the week, and Ben caught a nasty virus. Fingers crossed that the rest of the family doesn’t catch it! Despite the rough start to the week. everyone was thankfully healthy enough for some trick-or-treating!

Baby Elephant & Chicken

Our family obviously went with an animal theme this year for costumes (what a surprise, haha). We bought this sweet elephant costume for Finley when she was a baby. Ben and I planned for all of our kids to wear the same costume for their first Halloween, so I was so excited to pull it our of storage for Beckham. I mean seriously, how cute is this little elephant!? it’s crazy to think that exactly one year ago today, I found out I was pregnant with this little guy. So much has changed in the past year, and I couldn’t be more thankful.

When we came across this adorable chicken suit costume for Finley, it was a no brainer. This little one loves her chickens, so we purchased it right away. I was hoping to snap a picture of her wearing the chicken suit while holding a chicken before trick-or- treating, but we didn’t have a chance. It was probably a good thing though, because her costume would have been covered in chicken poop for the rest of the night. #farmproblems. Looks like we will need to bust out the chicken suit again this weekend to snap a photo!

Cider & Trick-or-Treating

Ben got off work a bit early, so we stopped by a local farm to grab some cider before the end of the season. We have a small apple orchard on the farm, but the trees are overgrown. We would love to eventually plant some new apple trees and make our own fresh cider every year – how amazing would that be?!

Seeing as we live on a farm and don’t exactly have neighbors, we drove to a nearby town for trick-or-treating.  Beckham snuggled up in a sling while Finley had a blast trick-or-treating. We even managed to snap a family picture toward the end of the night. We have food allergies over here, so Finley didn’t actually eat any of the candy, but we had more than enough sweet treats at home to enjoy afterwards.

Did you do anything fun for Halloween? Let me know in the comments below!
